Inmate Search using the Federal Bureau of Prisons search tool

Procedure 1: Using the BOP number

BOP is an eight-digit number that the Federal Bureau of Prisons uses to find inmates. This method is quick and reliable.

Step 1: Find the BOP number from the Alabama state's DOC website. Ensure it is an 8 digit number. To find this number, you will need the inmate's first and last name, then key in the website search section.

Search using the ADOC search tool

The Alabama Department of Corrections tool is available on the official website and the inmate search secession. It is simple and easy to use when searching for an inmate incarcerated in the state of Alabama.

Follow the steps below to locate an inmate using the ADOC search tool.

Step 1: Find the Alabama Institutional Serial (AIS) number from the DOC. This  AIS number is assigned to an inmate incarcerated in Alabama. The number is unique for easy identification of the inmate.

Step 3: Get data regarding the inmate only related to the AIS number you entered. If the number is incorrect, then you won't get the data.
